March 24-26, 2009
Cape Town, South Africa
Key objectives for this seminar:
- to increase your knowledge about the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and opportunities for becoming involved in Global Fund grant development and project implementation at the country and regional levels.
- to assess opportunities for developing a regional proposal to the Global Fund that will focus on sexual minorities.
The goal of a regional proposal would be to strengthen organizations led by and working with sexual minorities and HIV/AIDS throughout southern Africa; support country and regional-level advocacy on sexual minorities' health and human rights in the context of HIV/AIDS; and support operational research on sexual minorities and HIV/AIDS. Ultimately, such a proposal could help to strengthen the involvement of LGBTI movement in HIV/AIDS responses throughout southern Africa and contribute to the development of strong and sustainable organizations working in this field.
